Returning to the cockpit years later, Top Gun: Maverick makes its central conflict about more than a mission. The group follows Maverick’s collision with the next generation of pilots, especially Rooster, and examines how responsibility, memory, and risk shape the film’s emotional engine. We work through the Four Throughlines to see how its high-speed set pieces support the story’s larger argument.
